After Picasso
2003, welded steel bicycle seat and handle bars, silver paint
The title of this one pretty much sums it up: it is inspired by Picasso’s original 1943 sculpture “Bull’s Head.” Imitation is flattery; yeah, I like Picasso.
In a moment of Duchampian whimsy (that occasionally creeps into my work) I “signed” the piece “Picasso” in a decorative script typeface that would be at home on a baseball jersey.
